President McRobbie thanks Sen. Luke Kenley for support of higher education

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie has released the following statement regarding the news that Sen. Luke Kenley is retiring from the Indiana General Assembly:

“Indiana University expresses its deep appreciation to Senator Kenley for his strong support for higher education in Indiana during his 25 years in the General Assembly. His knowledge, thoughtfulness and legislative skills will be greatly missed in the coming years. All of us at IU thank him for his service to our state and wish him the very best in his retirement.”

Kenley, longtime chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate’s chief architect of the state budget, announced today that he will retire from the legislature Sept. 30.
