IU experts available to comment on winter holiday shopping season, Black Friday

November 19, 2020

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- As Thanksgiving approaches, consumers will be getting ready to shop for the winter holidays. But recent spikes in COVID-19 positivity rates will cause many businesses to move the traditional Black Friday shopping experience online. As similarly busy shopping days like Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday also approach, shoppers hunting for the best online deals will want to do so safely without fear of identity theft or stolen credit card numbers. Experts from Indiana University are available to comment on what the retail market looks like this holiday season, how consumers can stay safe while engaging in e-commerce, and how supporting local businesses could affect the current economic recession.
