Two members of the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Vasti Torres and Alison Sinadinos, have been appointed to the Executive Leadership Team for the implementation of the IUB 2030 Strategic Plan.

Torres is the interim vice provost for undergraduate education. Sinadinos is the assistant director of the Women in STEM Living Learning Center and president of the IU Bloomington Staff Council.

The ELT will both develop and enact a structure for the strategic plan. The team will do so by:

  • Prioritizing goals
  • Creating and directing teams assigned to goals or objectives
  • Developing timelines or milestones for each pillar of the plan
  • Collaborating with the Bloomington Faculty Council and groups across campus
  • Reporting transparently on both progress and opportunities

With work beginning in May and stretching through the summer, the ELT’s goal is to have an implementation plan in place by the start of the Fall 2023 semester.

Torres is a professor of educational leadership and policy studies and the executive associate dean at the School of Education at IU Bloomington. She was named interim vice provost for undergraduate education in April, effective this summer.

In addition to her current positions with IU, Torres has also served as program chair for the graduate program in higher education and student affairs, director of Project on Academic Success and director of the Center for Postsecondary Research.

“Undergraduate student success is an important part of the 2030 Strategic Plan and being on the leadership team will allow for OVPUE to engage in bringing the plan to life,” Torres said.

Sinadinos has previously worked for Residential Programs & Services and Emergency Management & Continuity. She has been on the IU Bloomington Staff Council since 2021 and has served as its president since Fall 2022.

“I am very excited to continue my commitment to IUB 2030 by serving on the ELT,” Sinadinos said. “I hope to continue to represent the needs and concerns of staff at all levels of the university. I also hope to represent OVPUE by highlighting the incredible work that our organization does and how our work can continue to support our students.”
