It’s confidential and private. And not limited to certain diagnoses.

You can get AES support any time during the school year.

“We offer accommodations that allow students to achieve their full potential,” explained

Matt Rothrock, Educational Resources Leader. “To find out if you quality for accommodations, please come and ask, or fill out our form. We are happy to help.”

For example, consider visiting if:
  • You previously had an IEP or 504 plan

  • You are or become injured

  • You have or suspect you may have a mental health issue, including trauma or PTSD

  • You have a chronic health issue, such as diabetes or long COVID

  • You have a learning difference or disorder, even if it’s a new issue for you

  • You have new or existing vision, hearing, or mobility issue

  • Something in your personal life is making it difficult to be successful

You may be wondering how AES can help you. It varies, depending on your unique situation. Here are some examples of accommodations that AES provides:

  • Extra time for tests and/or assignments

  • Private, quiet test locations

  • Closer parking spaces and easily accessible seating

  • IU Assisted technology, including voice-to-text, text-to-voice, large-print or Braille materials, smart pens, and more

AES can also provide referrals for support and resources both on campus and in the community.

“So often, students try to muscle through difficulties on their own—but it doesn’t have to be that way,” Rothrock added. “Please don’t wait. If you’re going through something, let us know. We have so many ways to help.”
