The Peebles Memorial Lecture in Information Technology series commemorates decades of service given to Indiana University by Dr. Christopher S. Peebles, former associate vice president for research and academic computing and dean for information technology.
This year’s speaker is Dr. Beth Plale.
Plale is program officer at the National Science Foundation working on open science. She is also a full professor in the Dept. of Intelligent Systems Engineering at IU. Her lecture is titled “Open Science is Good (Data) Science.” She will discuss open science in data science from perspectives of both funder and researcher with the objective of showing that open science is good science that in the end benefits us all.

New this year, the First Annual Research Technologies Student Poster Expo gives students an opportunity to show their work to fellow students, faculty, and staff. The deadline for submitting posters and abstracts has passed.
Poster judges will include past Peebles Memorial Lecture Series speakers as well as other distinguished IU faculty and staff. The expo is sponsored by the IU Pervasive Technology Institute.
