Jay Gladden will join the Office of the Vice President for IT as associate vice president for Learning Technologies. Gladden brings a wealth of higher education leadership experience to the position both from IU and from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He will transition into the role in August.

For the past four years, he served as associate vice chancellor for the Division of Undergraduate Education, dean of the University College, and acting dean of the Honors College at IUPUI.
In these roles, he has worked closely with UITS in the planning, development, and enhancement of technology systems supporting students, including AdRx, iGPS, and the Student Engagement Roster. He has focused on supporting student success, high-impact practices, curriculum, and honors education. Previously Gladden was the dean of the School of Physical Education and Tourism Management at IUPUI.
I would also like to thank Julie Johnston for serving as interim associate vice president for Learning Technologies since last summer. Her leadership during the pandemic ensured that our students, faculty, and staff were well served as they depended more than ever on technology to do their work.

“I would like to recognize Stacy Morrone, who pioneered the role of AVP for Learning Technologies for us and served for 14 years,” said Rob Lowden, IU vice president for IT and chief information officer. “We are excited for her as she takes on her new role as dean of the IU School of Education in Bloomington.
