Even the calendar brings together upcoming events from a range of contributors like IT Training, campus teaching and learning centers, the IU Office of Diversity, Equity, and Multi-cultural Affairs, and the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching (FACET).
Teaching Resources
Here, you’ll find evidence-based and pragmatic teaching practices designed with inclusion in mind from the start. They are organized based on three major teaching functions:
- Sharing new knowledge or skills (Delivering content)
- Giving students opportunities to discuss and practice working with that new knowledge, and providing them with feedback (Engaging students)
- Assessing to what degree students can demonstrate they have acquired the new knowledge or skill (Assessing learning)
During the pandemic, we learned about the importance of sharing and relying on one another to teach effectively, especially in challenging times, what to keep as we come out of pandemic, and sharing community. The new site helps do that.

Stories
This is the part of the site where you can connect with the peer-reviewed teaching stories of fellow instructors, like To Podcast or Not to Podcast, Becoming More Transparent in My Teaching, and more. And you can submit your own story, which will undergo a rapid peer-review by IU colleagues.
“Stories are now front and center as a place to go,” said Adam Maksl, faculty fellow and principal, eLearning Design & Innovation, and associate professor of Journalism & Media, IU Southeast. “We created a site with the things faculty have told us they need. New things are being added all the time. Faculty are seeing how they can share their teaching innovations and be inspired by colleagues’ successes.”
Tool Finder
Ever wonder what Google Assignments can do? Or where to organize and store your content? Tool Finder will get you on track with all the tools. We revised Tool Finder to include more tools and to be better connected. Now Tool Finder is built around helping faculty find the tools they need for everyday success in the classroom.
“During the pandemic, we learned about the importance of sharing and relying on one another to teach effectively, especially in challenging times, what to keep as we come out of pandemic, and sharing community. The new site helps do that,” said Kelley School of Business Professor Michael Morrone. “With the input of an advisory board including teaching and learning center staff and faculty from across IU, FACET collaborated with UITS Learning Technologies to overhaul Teaching.IU, simplifying access for ongoing contributions of faculty and staff.”
