Follow instructions on how to connect to IU’s eduroam.
IU Secure Wi-Fi has been retired from IU residence halls. Make sure you will be able to securely connect your personal mobile devices (including laptops and tablets) to eduroam when you arrive by downloading the eduroam network setup tool now and keeping the app installed when you come to campus.
Having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi on campus? First, connect to the Wi-Fi network, IU PublicNet, then follow the instructions to securely connect to eduroam.
Visit wifi.iu.edu for more information, or contact your IT Pro or campus Support Center for help.
While you may see that IU Secure is still currently an available Wi-Fi network in some locations, it will retire from all IU campuses Dec. 22, 2021. Be sure to connect to eduroam now on all your devices.

Prevent Zoombombing
Learn how to keep intruders out of your meetings.
Back on campus means more Zoom meetings and more opportunities for malicious behavior, known as Zoombombing. Follow a few simple steps to keep your meetings safe:
- DON’T share your Zoom link or passcode publicly: Avoid putting it out on social media or in emails going to a large number of people.
- DO require participants to register: Sharing the registration link is safer when you’re trying to reach a wide audience.
- DO require a passcode to join the meeting: Zoom at IU will enable a waiting room as a default—the passcode adds security and can be used by those attending by phone.
- DO require participants to be logged in to an IU Zoom account: This step increases accountability on your meeting participants.
- DO enlist people you trust to act as co-hosts of the meeting: Make sure your co-hosts know how to use Zoom security controls in advance, in case of problems.
If you do experience a disruption in your Zoom meeting, be sure to report it so Information Security can investigate.
Annual IUanyWare user profile to reset on Aug. 19
IU’s software streaming service is moving to Microsoft Office 365.
IU’s award-winning software streaming service, IUanyWare, is resetting all user profiles on Aug. 19.
Here’s what to expect when you log in to IUanyWare for the first time after the maintenance.
- IUanyWare may take slightly longer to load while it rebuilds your user profile.
- You’ll need to reconfigure personal settings for some of the applications you use.
- The first time you open an Office application in IUanyWare after the profile reset, you’ll be prompted to log in to Microsoft Office through IU Azure.
This annual end-of-summer maintenance will improve application performance, printing capabilities, and mapping of your IU cloud storage resources.
