Prevent Zoombombing
Learn how to keep intruders out of your meetings.
Back on campus means more Zoom meetings and more opportunities for malicious behavior, known as Zoombombing. Follow a few simple steps to keep your meetings safe:
- DON’T share your Zoom link or passcode publicly: Avoid putting it out on social media or in emails going to a large number of people.
- DO require participants to register: Sharing the registration link is safer when you’re trying to reach a wide audience.
- DO require a passcode to join the meeting: Zoom at IU will enable a waiting room as a default—the passcode adds security and can be used by those attending by phone.
- DO require participants to be logged in to an IU Zoom account:This step increases accountability on your meeting participants.
- DO enlist people you trust to act as co-hosts of the meeting: Make sure your co-hosts know how to use Zoom security controls in advance, in case of problems.
If you do experience a disruption in your Zoom meeting, be sure to report it so Information Security can investigate.
Connect to eduroam for Wi-Fi access
Follow instructions on how to connect to IU’s eduroam.
Securely connect your personal mobile devices (including laptops and tablets) to eduroam by downloading the eduroam network setup tool.
If you’re having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi as you get settled on campus, first, connect to the Wi-Fi network, IU PublicNet, then follow the instructions to securely connect to eduroam.
Visit wifi.iu.edu for more information, or contact your IT Pro or campus Support Center for help.
While you may see that IU Secure is still currently an available Wi-Fi network in some locations, it will retire from all IU campuses Dec. 22, 2021. Be sure to connect to eduroam now on all your devices.

Nearly everything that has ever been or might ever be an issue with technology at IU is chronicled within its digital pages, complete with exact step-by-step instructions on how to fix problems.
The second is our Support Center, filled with dedicated and helpful individuals who have seen it all, and can help you out of any of it.
Get some good grub
Grubhub now accepts CrimsonCard as payment.
All CrimsonCard holders can now access more than 280,000 restaurants in more than 4,000 U.S. cities via Grubhub. That’s huge! Here’s how to start:
- Download the Grubhub app and create an account
- Tap Account > Campus Dining > Select your specific IU campus
- Add CrimsonCash as a payment option
- Order and enjoy your food
But wait! There’s more! Once your CrimsonCard is connected to your Grubhub account, you’ll be eligible to join Grubhub+ at no cost for an entire year, which means no delivery fees, and you’ll get a $10 Grubhub perk. Simply be on the lookout for a Grubhub email inviting you to join.
