Last call to join a Student Technology Advisory Committee

Why should you join a Student Technology Advisory Committee (STAC)? IU needs your voice, especially from our regional campuses. Plus, it looks good on your resume, and it’s only one hour per month of your time.

STACs need student tech perspectives: no specific tech skill or experience is required. Meetings via Zoom begin at the end of September.

Use the pronoun feature in Canvas

Adding pronouns to your profile helps create an inclusive environment, making it less uncomfortable for those wanting to share their pronouns with you.

To edit your pronoun, log in to Canvas, select Account, go to Settings, then scroll down to Edit Settings and select your preferred pronouns from the drop-down list.

Quick tip on using the pronoun feature in Canvas

Consult AVL for engaging scientific visuals

Explaining something complicated is easier when there’s a visual, but if it’s too complex or unengaging, no one is going to get anything out of it. A consultation with the Advanced Visualization Lab (AVL) will solve the problem.

AVL can help you make your scientific visuals interactive in an easily accessible online environment. For example, check out this lightning visualization.
