Gail McGuire

Expert Bio

Gail McGuire is a professor of sociology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at IU South Bend, teaching courses on statistics, research methods, race and ethnicity, and work. Her research focuses on informal networks and mentoring.

She has recently begun studying affordable housing in Indiana. As director of the Carnegie Engaged Campus Task Force, she has been working to institutionalize community engagement and to prepare an application for the Carnegie Engaged Campus Classification.

McGuire has published in Work & Occupations, Gender & Society, National Women’s Studies Association Journal, Sociological Focus, and To Improve the Academy.
