Expert Bio

Andreas Hauskrecht is a clinical professor of business economics and public policy at the IU Kelley School of Business and an adjunct professor for economics at the National Economic University in Hanoi, Vietnam. He is an expert in international economics and finance, and banking. He also has advised the national banks of Moldova (a former Soviet republic that neighbors Ukraine), Laos and Bolivia. He is a member of the American Economic Association and the European Economic Association.

Before coming to Kelley in 2001, Hauskrecht was assistant professor for economics, the Foundation Deutsche Bundesbank for Monetary Economics at Freie Universitaet Belin, where he also earned his Ph.D. in economics. Since the mid-1990s, he has advised the Vietnamese government and its central bank on monetary policy and macroeconomic issues. Today, he co-directs the Vietnam Initiative, a 60-member international think tank.

He is fluent in German, French, Portuguese and English.
