Victoria Champion

Expert Bio

With continuous NIH funding since 1984, Victoria Champion is an internationally recognized expert in behavioral oncology, with research focusing on cancer survivorship, as well as interventions to increase cancer screening in community settings. She is a Distinguished Professor of Nursing and the Edward and Sarah Stam Cullipher Endowed Chair; she also serves as the IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center’s associate director of community outreach/engagement and population science.

Champion has served on many national advisory panels including a presidential appointment to both the National Cancer Advisory Committee from 2008 to 2014 and the CDC Executive Committee for Breast and Cervical Cancer.
