Kurt Zemlicka is a lecturer in the Department of English and a member of the Communication and Public Advocacy Program at Indiana University. He studies public controversies over scientific research, the rhetoric of science, and the role the humanities must play in shaping public advocacy regarding scientific research and science-based policies.
He has published research on public debates over controversial gene-editing technologies, and presented public and academic lectures on public attitudes toward science in the 20th- and 21st-century United States. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.View full bio
