Expert Bio
Rebecca Bartlett Ellis is a leader, scientist and innovator
who is passionate about designing experiences that improve
quality of life. She is a nationally recognized expert with a track record of publications, presentations and grant funding to support her research to help patients manage their medications. She led a multidisciplinary team of scientists to develop a patent-pending smart pillbox and other digital technologies to improve medication-taking.
Bartlett Ellis is an associate professor, the assistant dean for graduate programs, and program coordinator for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at the IU School of Nursing core schools in Indianapolis, Bloomington and Fort Wayne. She is also an affiliated faculty in the Diabetes and Translational Research Center at the IU School of Medicine.
Nationally, she serves on the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Digital Health Council and is an advisor to the Research Center for Optimal Digital Ethics Health (ReCODE Health) at the University of California San Diego.
Bartlett Ellis earned her Ph.D., master's and Bachelor of Science degrees in nursing from Indiana University and a B.S. in business management from Indiana Wesleyan. She is board certified as an advanced practice Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and licensed as an RN in Indiana.
