Expert Bio

Kit Elam is an associate professor in the Department of Applied Health Science at the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington. His program of research examines gene-environment interplay in social relationships in pathways to child psychopathology and adolescent substance use.

Foci of his research include: children’s genetic predisposition, negative family and peer environments, advanced approaches to measures genetic predisposition. In his research, he examines these processes as part of longitudinal trajectories of development.
