Expert Bio

Anita Morgan is a senior lecturer in the Department of History at IUPUI and is a past president of the Indiana Association of Historians. She recently co-edited an issue of the Indiana Magazine of History devoted to the study of Indiana women's history and is one of the co-founders of the Hoosier Women at Work conference.

Her past research includes a look at women business owners and women who worked in the Indiana State Arsenal during the Civil War. Her book, "We Must be Fearless: The Woman Suffrage Movement in Indiana," was published in March 2020 by the Indiana Historical Society Press.

Morgan earned her B.S., M.S., M.A. and finally her Ph.D. in U.S. history from Purdue University. She has taught at Purdue University, IUPUI, IUPUC and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
