Expert Bio

Daniel Cole is the Robert H. McKinney Professor of Law and professor of public and environmental affairs at Indiana University's Maurer School of Law and O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, respectively. He is also an affiliated faculty member in the Vincent and Elinor Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis, and an adjunct professor of political science at IU.

Outside of IU, Cole is an affiliated member of the Berlin Workshop in Institutional Analysis of Social-Ecological Systems and a life member of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. He has authored or edited a dozen books and more than 60 articles on a wide range of topics, but mainly at the intersection of the law, economics, and politics of property rights, pollution-control and resource conservation.
