Amy Vaughan is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Tourism, Event Management and Sport Management at IUPUI. She has more than 20 years of experience in the tourism industry: She served as director of the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau for more than 14 years and as director of the Indiana Office of Tourism Development for more than seven years.
Vaughan teaches courses in career and leadership principles and internships in industry certificate, tourism industry and sport management.
She has presented at the Edward C. Moore Symposium, the Assessment Institute, the First Year Experience Conference, the International Symposium on Service Learning, Central States Travel and Tourism Research Association, the Hoosier Hospitality Conference, and the Indiana State Festivals Association.
A Certified Destination Management Executive, she is a graduate of Ball State University's Economic Development course and of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy. She is also a Purdue University Distinguished Darden Professor.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in English and journalism from Indiana University Bloomington and her Master of Arts in philanthropic studies from IUPUI.View full bio
