Dr. Razi Nalim is Executive Associate Dean for Research & Global Initiatives for the Purdue School of Engineering & Technology at IUPUI. He leads multiple industry-university research consortia to develop pressure-gain combustors for power plants, jet engines and autonomous transportation systems. His pioneering research at NASA led to the first US demonstration of a wave rotor combustor at Purdue University’s Zucrow Labs.
Nalim conducts workshops in project-based active learning in STEM education and is involved in STEM education research. He has published well over a hundred scientific and technical papers, received seven patents, and was supported by more than $12 million in grants from NASA, NIH, NSF, Rolls-Royce, Cummins, Blue Origin and others.
Nalim is a Fulbright Scholar, NATO AGARD Scholar, and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been awarded the IUPUI Bynum Faculty Mentor award for guiding undergraduate research as well as the IU Trustees teaching award.View full bio
