Expert Bio

Since 2014, Kim Milford has been the executive director of the Research & Education Networks Information Sharing & Analysis Center, or REN-ISAC, a higher education and research network cyber-threat information sharing alliance. She works with her team in service to, and in coordination with, global research and education institutions, partners and sponsors to provide timely cybersecurity news reports, alerts and advisories, and analysis of cybersecurity threats and mitigation solutions.

Before joining the REN-ISAC, Milford was IU's chief privacy officer and served as chief information security officer at two other institutions of higher education. She provides cybersecurity expertise and presentations at conferences, seminars and consortia. She has taught courses on internet security and authored/co-authored articles on the subject.

Milford has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a J.D. from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
