Expert Bio
Sarah Phillips' current major research program extends her focus on questions of health, disability and social justice in Ukraine to study HIV prevention among intravenous drug-using populations. Ukraine has one of the most severe HIV epidemics in Eastern Europe, with an estimated 1.6 percent of the adult population living with the virus and an estimated 33 percent prevalence among drug users in certain regions.
