Expert Bio

Jack Bloom attended University of California at Berkeley and participated in the civil rights, anti-war and other social movements. He wrote about these movements for academic purposes. Bloom's book, "Class, Race and the Civil Rights Movement," won second prize of the C. Wright Mills Award in 1987 and was named as an outstanding book by the Gustavus Myers Center. It has been in print for 30 years. Bloom is currently working on a book on the rise of the New Right in the U.S. He also published the book, "Solidarity in Poland: Seeing Through the Eyes of the Polish Revolution."
