Expert Bio

Phil Richerme is an assistant professor of physics at Indiana University; his current research focuses on the development of two-dimensional arrays of trapped ions, which can serve as a well-isolated platform for studying quantum many-body physics or as a new computational resource for solving classically intractable problems. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 2012 under the direction of Gerald Gabrielse, followed by postdoctoral research with Chris Monroe at the University of Maryland.
