Vivian Halloran is a professor of English and American studies. She is the author of "The Immigrant Kitchen: Food, Ethnicity and Diaspora" (Ohio State UP, 2016) and "Exhibiting Slavery: The Caribbean Postmodern Novel as Museum" (University of Virginia P, 2009). She is at work on a book project on Caribbean American exceptionalism. Her research on public humanities involves analyzing the implications of writers using Twitter as a publishing platform for literary works and also mapping out how online book groups function as sites of informal continuing education in the humanities.View full bio
