Expert Bio
Sarah Knott is a British-born historian who researches and writes in two fields: The first is the Age of Revolutions of the late 18th century, especially the American Revolution. The second is the history of mothering (pregnancy, birthing and infant care) in North America and Britain from the 17th century to the present. She is the author of "Sensibility and the American Revolution"; "Women, Gender and Enlightenment"; and a forthcoming book-length essay titled "Mother: The Past in Our Present."
