Expert Bio

Micah Pollak is an assistant professor of economics in the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois and joined the IU Northwest faculty in 2011. He teaches in the areas of microeconomics and economic history. His research areas include applied microeconomics as well as regional economics. Pollak is responsible for the monthly publication of the Northwest Indiana Coincident Index, which tracks the economic health of Northwest Indiana and is one of the few regional economic indices in the United States.
