Intimate partner violence, divorce and parental separation, evidence-based family law interventions.
Amy Holtzworth-Munroe has researched intimate partner violence since the mid-1980s. She also conducts research on family law, developing and testing methods of intimate partner violence screening in family mediation, and conducting randomized controlled trials testing the effectiveness of family law interventions (e.g., mediation, online parent programs). Her research is conducted in the IU Maurer School of Law and courts around Indiana. In addition, she is working at the Washington D.C. Superior Court Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Center, conducting a study comparing outcomes of shuttle mediation, videoconferencing mediation and return to court (without mediation) for parties with a history of high levels of intimate partner violence.View full bio
