Expert Bio

Dr. Kathy Auberry is a registered nurse practicing in the field of intellectual and developmental disability for the past 25 years. She is an assistant professor of nursing at Indiana University School of Nursing, Division of Health Sciences, since 2012. Her research interest is improving health care services for individuals with disability and complex health care needs residing within community settings.

She previously served as the director of health sciences and the director of operations for an organization supporting individuals with the intellectual and developmental disabilities experiencing complex health needs. Auberry has a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a master’s degree in nursing, ‘Healthcare Leadership with a Focus in Education’, as well as certification in developmental disabilities nursing.
