Expert Bio

Dr. Thomas Ciulla, a volunteer clinical professor of ophthalmology, has played numerous roles in over 100 national clinical trials, including principal investigator, medical monitor, or member of scientific advisory, data safety monitoring or writing committees.

He has co-authored over 100 Medline indexed papers and is an active member of the Macula and Retina Societies, American Society of Retina Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He graduated from Harvard College and University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency at Harvard Medical School and then his retina fellowship at Tufts Medical School.

Retina, macula, vitreous, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, ocular histoplasmosis, gene therapy for retina disease.
