Expert Bio

Jakobi Williams is an associate professor of African American and African Diaspora studies and history at IU Bloomington. He has held positions at the University of Kentucky, UCLA and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are centered on questions of resistance and social justice.

His most recent book, "From the Bullet to the Ballot: The Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party and Racial Coalition Politics in Chicago," was published by UNC Press. He has articles and book chapters published by The New Press, Georgia and Illinois. He has provided over 100 invited lectures both domestically and abroad.
