Expert Bio
Ellen Ketterson is an evolutionary biologist whose research focuses on natural populations of birds and their responses to environmental change. She is past president of the American Society of Naturalists, past co-director of the Center for the Integrative Study of Animal Behavior and current director of the Environmental Resilience Institute at IU, which emerged from the Prepared for Environmental Change Grand Challenge Initiative.
She studies interdisciplinary solutions to challenges related to plant, animal and microbial adjustments to alterations in climate and associated changes in the geographic distributions of species with the goal of supporting resilient ecosystems and healthy people.
