Xin Zhang

Expert Bio

Xin Zhang was born in the People’s Republic of China before he became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He received his Ph.D. in Chinese history from the University of Chicago. He became a history professor in 1993 and has been teaching Chinese, Asian and global history ever since. Zhang has also served as an adviser to the U.S. government. He is an author of two major publications, one by the Cambridge University Press and the other to be published in 2023 by Harvard University Press. He has been invited to speak at various meetings and conferences in the U.S. as well as in China.

China specialist: current events, Chinese history and Chinese politics; Asia specialist: current events; international relations (Asia); and U.S. relations with Asian countries including China, Japan and Korea.
