Expert Bio

Kirk White is assistant vice president at IU and is responsible for coordinating national defense and homeland security partnerships with government agencies and IU’s relationships with economic development organizations in southwest Indiana. He has served IU in several external and government relations assignments.

A former elected official, White served as a member of the Bloomington City Council and as Monroe County commissioner.

Col. White is an officer in the Indiana National Guard and currently serves as deputy commander for 81st Troop Command, headquartered in Terre Haute. He deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
