Expert Bio

Robert Chapman is a professor of kinesiology. His main research interests have focused on the limitations to performance in elite endurance athletes, in particular on pulmonary gas exchange limitations in elite distance runners and the effective use of altitude training to augment endurance performance.

He was co-investigator on US Olympic Committee and USA Track & Field research on the “Live High – Train Low” altitude training model. He has a Ph.D. and M.S. from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Altitude training and performance in athletes; hypoxia and effects on oxygen delivery and exercise performance; and performance of elite athletes.
