Expert Bio

John M. Keesler is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at Indiana University Bloomington. A native of Buffalo, New York, he completed his graduate education at University at Buffalo and worked for more than a decade in nonprofit organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Through practice-informed research, Keesler has published in the area of trauma and trauma-informed care with a particular emphasis on intellectual and developmental disabilities services. With a passion for community-based research, Keesler seeks to engage organizations, communities, and students in building capacity, reducing stigma and promoting wellness.
