Expert Bio

Matthew Houser is a Midwestern/Indiana community studies fellow at Indiana University’s Environmental Resilience Institute. His research is driven by the desire to understand what motivates human behaviors affecting the environment and how information is received and used to shape environmental decision making.

Focusing on agriculture, he examines how people respond to climate change in Indiana and beyond while working to identify environmental policies that would benefit Indiana and be supported by residents. His primary goal at the Environmental Resilience Institute is to identify environmental policies that would benefit the state and be readily supported by its residents.
