Rachael Stoeltje

IU Libraries Moving Image Archive

Expert Bio

Rachael Stoeltje established the Indiana University Libraries Moving Image Archive in 2010 and has served as its director since the founding. She has served on the International Federation of Film Archives Executive Committee since 2013 and is the chair of the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations for the 2018-19 term.

For two decades, she Stoeltje has worked on preserving, archiving and providing access to vast and varied film, photography and personal collections. She also writes about film; has co-created a global training and outreach program; and has planned and managed IU’s mass film digitization project.
