Expert Bio

Dr. Tuan Tran began studying malaria in 2000 while an MD/Ph.D. student in the laboratory of Dr. Mary Galinski at Emory University. After completing his internal medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and a clinical fellowship in infectious diseases at the NIH, he trained as a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Peter Crompton in the Laboratory of Immunogenetics within NIAID, where he studied naturally acquired immunity to Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Tran is now an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
