Expert Bio

Hsien-Chang Lin, an associate professor in the School of Public Health-Bloomington, has a strong interest in health services research and pharmacoepidemiological research on outcomes of therapeutics.

His research generally focuses on application of quantitative methodology in examining issues related to patient health care utilization, physician decision-making, patient health and economic outcomes, and effectiveness of medical care delivery (in particular, pharmaceuticals) in diseases. He is also interested in substance use/misuse behavior topics. He has conducted a number of studies examining determinants of e-cigarette and prescription opioid use/misuse behaviors as well as related policies and health outcomes.
