R. Andrew Butters

R. Andrew Butters is an assistant professor in the Department of Business Economics and Public Policy at the IU Kelley School of Business. Before joining Kelley, he was an associate economist in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

His research focuses on the impact on demand fluctuations on business decisions and measuring the stage of the business/financial cycle. His research has appeared in journals such as American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, Economic Inquiry, International Journal of Forecasting and the International Journal of Central Banking.

He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.​
