Expert Bio

Ana Bento is an assistant professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the IU School of Public Health-Bloomington and an adjunct in the Evolution, Ecology and Behavior Program in the Department of Biology. She is an eco-epidemiologist with a focus on ecology and evolution of infectious diseases.

She earned he Ph.D. in ecology and evolution at Imperial College London. After a Medical Research Council postdoctoral fellowship in emerging infectious disease modeling at Imperial College's Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Department, she moved to a postdoctoral position at the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia-Athens to work on the ecology and evolution of vaccine-preventable childhood diseases.
