KOKOMO, Ind. — Artwork created by nearly 50 north central Indiana high juniors and seniors is featured in the annual Indiana University Kokomo Art Gallery’s High School Art Exhibition.
The exhibit continues through Wednesday, March 27 in the Gallery. It includes drawings, paintings, photography, mixed media, charcoal, stained glass, crochet, and more.
Layne Denton from Northfield High School won first place with Inspiration from the East, created with clay and found objects. Justine Perang, Peru High School, was awarded second place for a graphite drawing, Aftermath. Brianna Housouer, Peru High School, received third place for her photography entry, Is it ok?
Honorable mentions were awarded to Emma Bone, Northfield; Natalee Laughman, Tri-Central; and Cressyn Reed, Peru.

Elwood Community High School: Lorelei Blackstone, Anna Bronnenberg, Ella Foust, Nyx Laymon, Asher Perrin, Sammie Sneed, and Serena Wilkey.
Northfield High School: Konner Carpenter, Ella Gahl, Hank Gray, Jaycie Krom, Mae Napier, John Nesler, and Emma Warnock.
Peru High School: Nolan Bohn, Leland Brown, Cassandra Duckwall, Brantlee Edwards, Joe Estrada, Emily Lewis, Nev McPhearson, and Tel Smith.
Rossville High School: Jay Brown, Ella Burkle, Aubrianna Hathaway, Megan McDonald, Keegan Smith, Cara Stingley, Ava Sudlow, Alexis Troyer, Caden Wilson, and Allison Yost.
Sheridan High School: Lucy Cooper, Avery Matthews, Ethan Merritt, Alexis Muller, and Grace Prater
Tri-Central High School: Natalie Chandler
The exhibit is free and open to the public in the Gallery, in the IU Kokomo Library Building, 2300 S. Washington St. Free parking is available on campus.
The IU Kokomo Art Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
