Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis commencement will take place Sunday, May 14, with a ceremony at Lucas Oil Stadium and specific school recognition events at the Indiana Convention Center. The Lucas Oil Stadium ceremony will begin at 1 p.m., with the student procession and diploma cover presentation beginning at noon.

Indiana Fever legend and community philanthropist Tamika Catchings is this year’s commencement speaker. The WNBA star earned her master’s degree in sports studies at the University of Tennessee and played her entire professional basketball career with the Indiana Fever, marking her legacy as one of the league’s all-time most valuable players, and ended her career by receiving numerous accolades.

Tickets are not required for commencement or any of the school recognition ceremonies. All graduates and their families are encouraged to attend.
