BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Maurer School of Law and the SKK Graduate School of Business of Sungkyunkwan University have announced that the graduate school will award full-tuition MBA scholarships to Maurer School of Law students beginning in the fall.
As part of the new IU Maurer/SKK Graduate School of Business International Fellows program, scholarships will be awarded to as many as 10 academically qualified students admitted to SKK Graduate School of Business’ MBA program as part of the law school’s unique international J.D./MBA program. Each scholarship award is estimated at $30,000 per student.
The international fellows will typically complete two years of study on the Bloomington campus, then transfer to Korea for one year to earn credit toward their MBA before returning to IU to complete the joint degree program. No GMAT score is required for admission, and the students earn their J.D. and their MBA in only four years.

Students in the law school’s J.D./MBA program are supported by a faculty director, professor Mark Need, an alumnus and former practitioner with extensive experience in the business world. In addition to significant financial support from SKK, students admitted to the program will be eligible to participate in other activities, including the innovative Elmore Entrepreneurship Clinic and the Business Law Society. The school’s Office of International Programs provides support to law school students as they prepare for their year at SKK Global School of Business and helps connect them with the school’s global partners throughout Asia.
In addition, the SKK Global School of Business MBA program enables law school students to complete the joint program with no reduction in J.D. credit hours. As a result, students’ J.D. schedules will easily accommodate their choices from more than 30 business-related classes and seminars offered at the law school.
Founded in 1842, the Indiana University Maurer School of Law is the oldest public law school in the Midwest. Ranked 30th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, it is the highest-ranked public law school in Indiana and among the top 15 public law schools nationally. The school also has highly ranked programs in tax law, international law, intellectual property law and environmental law.
Sungkyunkwan University was founded in 1398. It has been ranked No. 1 among Korean private comprehensive universities for the past three consecutive years in the JoongAng Daily University Rankings.
