INDIANAPOLIS – Please join IUPUI Chancellor Nasser H. Paydar and representatives from the IUPUI Division of Undergraduate Education on April 27 as they host a major announcement by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
WHAT: The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust will announce a multimillion-dollar endowment, the largest single grant in trust history, guaranteeing the sustainability of the Nina Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholars program at IUPUI.
WHEN: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 27; program begins at noon.
WHERE: IUPUI University Tower, President’s Room; 911 W. North St., Indianapolis. Visitor parking is available in the Hine Hall Tower or North Hall garages.

- Charlie Johnson, director of the Nina Scholars program at IUPUI.

WHY: IUPUI is committed to providing its students with the resources and support to succeed while in college and after graduation. Through initiatives such as the Nina Scholars program, IUPUI is able to directly address barriers to student success, particularly those facing individuals who are historically under-resourced, thereby improving graduation rates and continuing to produce valuable members of the Indiana economy.
About the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust seeks to help people in need, especially women, children and families; to protect animals and nature; and to enrich community life primarily in metropolitan Phoenix and Indianapolis. The trust has awarded more than $292 million in grants and student scholarships since its inception in 1997.
About the Nina Scholars program at IUPUI
The Nina Mason Pulliam Scholars program provides academic and financial support to students who traditionally have had difficulty gaining access to higher education, with the goal of helping them to successfully complete their college education. The program provides a scholarship award to assist with the student’s cost of attendance at IUPUI for up to six years. Students in the Nina Scholars program must meet one of the following criteria:
- Is an adult who has dependents in the family unit.
- Is an adult with physical disabilities.
- Is a young adult with a history of abuse, neglect or lack of effective family support, or who has experience in public foster care.
