Although senior Allex Brown calls herself a “late bloomer” when referring to the start of her basketball career, the current Lady Jaguars forward didn’t have to worry long in high school if she would be given the opportunity to continue playing her favorite sport on the collegiate level. IUPUI’s Coach Austin Parkinson began recruiting Brown during her sophomore year of high school.
“I came on a visit to IUPUI, and I absolutely loved Indianapolis and the opportunities they had here,” Brown said.
Brown, who will graduate in May, is a Kelley School of Business student studying marketing. She was a Top 100 student in 2018 and is currently the president of the IUPUI Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
She credits her athletic success to the camaraderie she has shared with her teammates.
“The girls I have played with all four years have been absolutely incredible and have made the experience something so worthwhile,” Brown said. “I have had the best team chemistry possible.”
