Jamie Gayer has been named assistant vice president for business services with Indiana University Capital Planning and Facilities.

She started her new role Dec. 1. Gayer had served as director of human resource services for Capital Planning and Facilities since 2017, after having been manager of human resource services since 2012. She also was a human resources coordinator for Capital Planning and Facilities in 2008.
Gayer will continue to provide operational leadership and oversight of the Capital Planning and Facilities human resources portfolio while also managing and overseeing all aspects of the support resources division, including capital finance, operational finance, information technology and procurement.
Her objectives include ensuring university compliance, mitigating institutional risk, improving internal controls, and developing policies and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting and business practices.
Gayer will represent Capital Planning and Facilities on various internal and external matters involving capital projects, facilities and other university issues. She also will work with other university units and state, regional and local government agencies.
“I’m very excited for Jamie to expand the great work she has done with our human resources unit to include finance and information technology, while also further developing our relationships with our university partners,” said Thomas A. Morrison, vice president for capital planning and facilities. “Through her work with the HR2020 Steering Committee and other initiatives, Jamie has facilitated increased employee engagement and productivity, while also developing a service-oriented vision for our teams.”
“I am both humbled and excited about the opportunity to build upon the substantive and innovative work that is already being performed in Capital Planning and Facilities’ business services area,” Gayer said. “My new role will allow us to share more broadly the importance of strong employee engagement as the foundation for our ability to provide high-quality services in direct support of the mission of Indiana University. I look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships across the university to ensure our CPF team is providing valuable service for capital planning and facilities projects and initiatives.”
Gayer’s leadership of the Capital Planning and Facilities human resources team has included implementing initiatives to increase employee productivity, engagement and training while providing strategic direction and alignment with Capital Planning and Facilities and university directives and goals. She also has been a member of the HR2020 Steering Committee since 2016, which sets and implements strategic HR initiatives across the university.
Gayer is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and is pursuing a master’s degree in public affairs. She has previously served in human resources positions in both corporate retail and higher education, including as a compensation consultant for IU University Human Resources from 2009 to 2012.
