The approaching holiday season and a pandemic-necessitated period of online-only classes means many faculty, staff and students will not be on the Indiana University Bloomington campus during the late fall and winter. But for those who will be on campus, here’s a look at openings, closings and adjusted hours for some popular campus facilities and services.
Indiana Memorial Union
The Indiana Memorial Union will have periods of closure and adjusted hours:

- Nov. 21 to 25: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Nov. 26 to 27: Closed.
- Nov. 28 to Dec. 4: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Dec. 5 to 19: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., IMU Computer Lab only.
- Dec. 20 to Jan. 3: Closed.
- Jan. 4 to 18: Open only to IMU employees.
- Jan. 19 to 31: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Feb 1 to 7: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Campus eateries
The Gloriana’s and Stripes food trucks closed Nov. 9, and campus eateries in the IMU and the various quads around campus will mostly be closed by the end of November.
During the winter session, Grubhub ordering will be available from Read Direct and Gresh Direct. The Campus Store at Willkie will also be open, except for a brief time around Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Locations are expected to reopen for the spring semester. Check the IU Dining website for more information after the beginning of the new year.
Eskenazi Museum of Art
The Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Museum of Art will be closed for the holidays Nov. 23 through Dec. 2, and Dec. 21 through Jan. 13.
IU Cinema
IU Cinema will offer virtual screenings through Dec. 15 before kicking off spring season in 2021. The spring season will begin Jan. 13 with a virtual event celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first public screening.
Wells Library
From Nov. 21 through Jan. 30, the Herman B Wells Library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday only. It will be closed Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving and Dec. 24 through Jan. 1 for the holiday break.
Spring hours will begin Jan. 31: 1 to 10 p.m. Sundays, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, and closed Saturdays.
IU Auditorium
IU Auditorium will promote virtual programs over the next few months, as it has been doing this semester. Here is a list of upcoming events:
- A Killer Party: A Murder Mystery Musical: Available through Dec. 31.
- Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company Livestream Event: 8 p.m. Nov. 19. The company will share excerpts of works of theirs, and the event will serve as fundraiser for Black Lives Matter groups.
- Live Q&A with Glenn Gass – Remembering John Lennon 40 Years Later: 8 p.m. Dec. 8. A talk with former IU rock history professor Glenn Gass on the 40th anniversary of John Lennon’s death. Upcoming details will be posted on the IU Auditorium website.
- Jagged Little Pill Livestream Concert: 8 p.m. Dec. 13. The Broadway smash and Tony-nominated show Jagged will present a livestream concert with the cast, including IU alumna Elizabeth Stanley.
IU Theatre and Dance
IU Theatre and Dance and its theater spaces have been closed to the public, and all of its events are digital for the entire academic year.

Jacobs School of Music venues
All Jacobs School of Music venues have been closed to the public for the fall semester and will continue to be closed until further notice.
Open Air Venues
IU Auditorium launched Open Air Venues in the fall semester to present events in safe and socially distanced outdoor environments. However, the venues will be disassembled Nov. 23.
Look for the possibility of Open Air Venues to return in early March.
Recreational Sports

IU Recreational Sports facilities, the Student Recreational Sports Center and Bill Garrett Fieldhouse will close Nov. 21 and re-open Feb. 7 for students. During the closure, Recreational Sports will continue to provide virtual, on-demand group exercise sessions (strength, interval, barre, yoga, cardio, etc.) via its YouTube channel and a virtual personal training option with its personnel.
The Tennis Center will be closed Nov. 21 to 29, open Nov. 30 to Dec. 14 for lessons, closed Dec. 15 to Jan. 3, and then return to expanded hours and programming beginning Jan. 4 (lessons and informal singles and doubles).
Student Health Center
The regular winter session hours for the Student Health Center are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In-person and virtual medical appointments are available, and the lab and pharmacy will be open. Patients must be physically located in the state of Indiana to participate in a virtual appointment.
From Dec. 21 through Jan. 1 the lab, pharmacy and medical clinic will be closed for in-person visits, but a Student Health Center medical professional will be available by phone from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 21 to 23 and Dec. 28 to 30.

Campus Bus Service
Campus Bus Service will operate during the winter session. From Nov. 21 to Feb. 6, Route CM will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. This will include stops at College Mall and Kroger.
However, Campus Bus Service will not operate on Nov. 26 (Thanksgiving Day), Nov. 27, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and MLK Jr. Day (Jan. 18).
Crimson Cupboard
The Crimson Cupboard food pantry will have periods of closure and adjusted hours:
- Nov. 23 to 27: Closed.
- Nov. 30 to Dec. 18: Monday and Tuesday pantry hours, 4 to 6 p.m.
- Dec. 21 to Jan. 1: Closed.
- Jan. 4 and 11: Monday pantry hours, 2 to 4 p.m.
- Jan. 18 to Feb. 5: Monday and Tuesday pantry hours, 4 to 6 p.m.
Division of Student Affairs
Some offices in the Division of Student Affairs will be available remotely (except for Nov. 26 to 29 and Dec. 21 to Jan. 3):

Counseling and Psychological Services
Counseling and Psychological Services will continue to offer services by phone/video during the winter session. The regular hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
CAPS is not authorized to provide virtual counseling to students who are not physically located in the state of Indiana during their appointment. For students living out of state, CAPS has partnered with The Shrink Space, an online referral database, to help find a local provider. Students can create a free account by signing up with their IU email address to search a national database of providers.
If students need a private, confidential space to go to for their virtual sessions, CAPS has rooms available to reserve. These spaces, available Mondays and Thursdays by appointment, are on the fourth floor of the Student Health Center. To reserve a room, call 812-855-5711.
CAPS will be closed Dec. 21 to Jan. 1, with services resuming Monday, Jan. 4.

Parking operations
The Office of Parking Operations will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 30 through Feb. 1. The office will be closed the week of Dec. 28.
A permit will be required while parking on campus between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., unless paying for an hourly space (metered or garage).
Facility operations
The Bloomington campus Facility Operations Center will remain open during all holidays and breaks to assist with maintenance trouble calls.
