Make plans to attend the annual Teach, Play, Learn conference on game-based teaching and learning. The virtual conference takes place Friday, June 25, from 9am to 3pm ET. There is no cost to attend, and faculty, students, and staff are invited.
Learn about game design from keynote speaker Dr. Scott Nicholson from Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. He is the author of Unlocking the Potential of Puzzle-Based Learning.
Help wanted: Support Center consultants
Positions open in Bloomington and IUPUI.
Gain client service experience, increase your technical knowledge, and learn troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. Those are valuable skills you can improve as a Support Center consultant, and you can take those with you into any career.
UITS is looking for a diverse pool of candidates to interview for consultant positions at IU Bloomington and IUPUI. Consultants work 20-29 hours per week and must sometimes work evening and/or weekend shifts. You must be available to work at least two full semesters.
Meet the sophomore who created People of IU social media campaign
The Bangalore, India, native launched the campaign to unite the IU community.
After initial culture shock, Sankalp Sharma adjusted to his Bloomington home away from home after a few weeks. Looking for a way to give back to the IU community, the Bangalore, India, native decided to create the People of IU campaign, a social media campaign in the vein of Humans of New York highlighting the diverse people who make up the IU Bloomington campus.
During his second semester, Sharma assembled a team of five fellow students with skills in photography, videography, social media, marketing, and leadership. Launched in August 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, they made it work with outdoor interviews and masks.
The People of IU posts are now shared on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
WonderLab and IU cybersecurity pros host summer workshop for teens
Register now for the virtual “Codemakers and Codebreakers” summer camp.
Do you know a teen who’s interested in cybersecurity? IU’s Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research is partnering with Bloomington’s WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology to host a “Codemakers and Codebreakers” virtual summer camp for kids in grades 7-12.
When: Monday, June 21 to Friday, June 25, 2021
Time: 9:30am-2:30pm ET daily, via Zoom
The camp’s expert instructors will use interactive exercises and games to teach topics such as cryptography, cybercrime, data forensics, lockpicking, network security, programming, social engineering, vulnerability testing, and website penetration testing.
